Arnica Montana (also known as Lepoard's Bane, Wolf's Bane, Mountain Arnica) has been used for several hundred years. In tincture form this can be applied to the skin (dilute as necessary) to aid in healing of injuries (pain, swelling, inflammation, joint pain, bruising, muscle aches and pain, arthritis pain).
